Unfortunately the EOD Warrior 5K Team will be unable to host the event in 2016. We are working now to ensure that the EOD Warrior 5K will be back next year better than ever. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Memorial Day 2017.

What is EOD?

WHAT IS EOD
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is a joint service military occupational skill, meaning EOD technicians serve within the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force. If you’ve seen the movie The Hurt Locker or watched the TV Show Bomb Patrol Afghanistan, then you have an idea of what some of the 7,000+ brave men and women serving as EOD technicians do on a daily basis.

EOD technicians make up roughly 0.5% of our nations military force, yet they are responsible for disarming, rendering safe, and disposing of 100% of the chemical, biological, radiological, and explosive hazards encountered on today’s battlefields. This includes improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Today, IEDs are responsible for the majority of fatalities and severe injuries to our troops. U.S. Military EOD forces around the world respond to more than 10,000 threats per year.

Theirs is a calling that very few are willing or able to answer. They do not shy away from a challenge. They are professionals with steady minds and steady hands who bravely face danger, ignoring potentially catastrophic consequences in order to enable U.S. military operations both on land and at sea.
